Requirements of the role include:

  • You must be a current UK PCV licence holder
  • You must have a Driver Qualification Card or Certificate if you passed your PCV test on or after 10th September 2008
  • You must not have more than 3 penalty points as a PCV licence holder
  • You must not have any drink driving or drug offences within the last five years
  • You must be a safe and considerate driver
  • You must be customer focused at all times
  • You must be able communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing
  • You will need to be prepared to work shifts
  • You should have a valid passport or birth certificate
  • You should have a minimum of 12 months visa documentation or longer before the date of expiry

PCV Driver training is also available. You must hold a full UK driving licence and have no penalty points or driving convictions.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Staff Manager in our Operations Department in Battersea. The successful applicant will assist the Operations Manager and depot to be responsible for all matters related to staff and their effective and efficient management and control to meet TfL and company requirements, ensuring staff quality at its highest standards.

Duties include:
• Maintain Company Standards by means of training, disciplinary and other procedures,
ensuring that the Company rules are adhered to by drivers and other staff.
• Work with colleagues in achieving the annual driver costs budget and associated action plans
and monitor and manage staff sickness and attendance.
• Conduct staff interviews including fact finding / disciplinary investigations, probationary reviews
and return to work interviews
• Collate and deliver statistics and reports in accordance with set timescales or as requested.
Have a good working knowledge of all traffic systems e.g. wages, revenue, lost mileage and to
carry out regular audits.
• Work with key staff to ensure all services operate to a high standard and in accordance with
set reliability targets, and to identify and implement solutions where targets are not being met.
• Ensure both staff lost mileage and OD driver related lost mileage is minimised in line with
company targets and to identify and implement solutions where targets are not being met.
• Ensure effective communication with and information to drivers, supervisors and managers
through the use of staff notices, staff memo’s/letters and other communication channels

All candidates must:
• Have excellent understanding of the road passenger transport sector, experience of working in
the regulated London Bus Market, combined with an in-depth knowledge of the working of
Transport for London.
• Be experienced in managing and motivating a team to achieve high standards and meet
deadlines. Performance focused with the ability to enthuse a team to achieve results.
• Have thorough appreciation of the needs of external customers and external stakeholders,
coupled with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plans.
• Have a flexible approach, and be prepared to work outside normal hours to meet deadlines.

Within that time candidates will be exposed to a variety of roles within the passenger transport industry, gaining a strong mixture of practical and theoretical knowledge, and working with people of all levels - from Directors to front line staff.
The programme includes a planned rotation of placements in different parts of the Abellio Group, complemented by training and development and mentoring throughout from a senior member of staff. Trainees will gain experience in key areas of transport operations and build an understanding of the business, its strategy, its environment, and its stakeholders. Trainees will be supported to develop the values and behaviours of the Abellio Way, the company’s Areas of Excellence programme and of what it means to be a team member of Abellio.

About you
Trainee places are highly competitive, and trainees must be intelligent, genuine and ambitious. They should have a passion for transport and approach their work with enthusiasm, ownership, and high levels of energy. This should be done without bias to the nature of work or topic as trainees may also be asked to support various administrative processes and tasks, particularly during peak times. Trainees should be creative problem-solvers and enjoy making things happen. They must have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and a dedication to excellence in all that they do. Duties and responsibilities within each placement will vary, but trainees will be given a clear and deliverable project with a developmental element in order to showcase what they have achieved. Trainees will receive regular support and supervision from their placement and line manager and mentoring from a senior manager, but they are expected to be proactive and take ownership of the projects and tasks assigned them, and ensure successful completion.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an effective Office Manager at the Abellio Group Head Office at Ely Place.

Main purpose of the role:

To manage the office, including reception, Health &Safety duties & general office coordination for Abellio head office (London), Abellio Corporate Travel (Ely Place) and Bid team office (Hatton Garden), and all London offices used at any point in time. This includes interface with third party service providers such as cleaners, property agents, hotel providers, office catering, suppliers and facilities maintenance companies.

Duties include:

Office management

  • Ensure the smooth running of a professional office environment, including safety and tidiness, equipment and
  • Ensure that excellent customer service is provided to all our customers (internal and external) at all times
  • Opens, date stamps and allocates the post each day

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Line management responsibility for the Receptionist and the Executive Assistants and ensuring effective, efficient, transparent and collaborative team working practices

 

Ensure that Receptionist

  • Provides hospitality for visitors, whilst presenting a highly professional image of the Abellio Group and assists visitors if/ when required (guidance, printing and so on)
  • Deals with all incoming calls in a professional, helpful and proactive manner, including the diversion of calls to our operating companies and the Corporate Travel Team
  • Keeps the reception and kitchen areas clean and tidy at all times
  • Coordinates the Ely Place meeting rooms – booking, setting up for meetings and clearing afterwards
  • Answers the Ely Place Office intercom and buzzer providing a professional service to visitors
  • Effectively and efficiently responds to queries via email and telephone
  • Distributes incoming post and deliveries each day, signs for incoming deliveries and arranges special deliveries out

Administration and executive support

  • Ad hoc general and administrative tasks as required
  • Administer and organise travel and accommodation requests if/where required
  • Assist in organising Abellio Group events if/where required
  • Coordinate and issue silver passes

Stock control and third party management

  • Interface with third party service providers such as cleaners, property agents, hotel providers, office supplies and facilities maintenance companies
  • Weekly food & drinks order, including any requirements for meetings and corporate events
  • Ordering Business Cards/badges/Abellio branded items and merchandise

Health & Safety

  • Support the Abellio Group Head of Health & Safety with office safety procedures where necessary
  • Fire Warden and First Aider for Ely Place – fully qualified, conducting safety checks for Group Head of Health & Safety

Premises

  • Maintain regular with landlords / premises managers, and advise the UK Board (through the UK HR Director) on optimal accommodation strategies going forward
  • Liaise and coordinate with property agents in connection with rented accommodation related to commuter employees, secondments or placements.
