Requirements of the role include:

  • You must be a current UK PCV licence holder
  • You must have a Driver Qualification Card or Certificate if you passed your PCV test on or after 10th September 2008
  • You must not have more than 3 penalty points as a PCV licence holder
  • You must not have any drink driving or drug offences within the last five years
  • You must be a safe and considerate driver
  • You must be customer focused at all times
  • You must be able communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing
  • You will need to be prepared to work shifts
  • You should have a valid passport or birth certificate
  • You should have a minimum of 12 months visa documentation or longer before the date of expiry

PCV Driver training is also available. You must hold a full UK driving licence and have no penalty points or driving convictions.

Entry Requirements


Operations, Business or Engineering role
Minimum 2:2 honours degree in any discipline
At least 280 UCAS points (or equivalent) excluding general studies


Personal Requirements

Our trainees are likely to be outgoing with good team-working, organisational and interpersonal skills. They have a genuine and inclusive approach to dealing with people. You will have excellent communication and written skills including report writing, accuracy and attention to detail. Good numeracy and knowledge of MS Office packages (particularly Excel), and experience of data analysis techniques. Candidates will need to have strong analytical skills along with good commercial acumen and have the ability to relocate.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Driving Standards Manager in our Operations Department in Battersea, who will provide assistance to the Operations Manager and depot and will be responsible for all matters related to driving standards and their effective and efficient management and control to meet TfL and company requirements, ensuring driving standards are at the highest levels.

 

Duties include:

  • To work with key staff to ensure all services operate to a high standard and in accordance with set driving standards targets, and to identify and implement solutions where targets are not being met.
  • To investigate all accidents and incidents involving the Company’s vehicles and take appropriate action with staff and where necessary liaise with the Intervention Team as appropriate, including subsequent recording and reporting.
  • Auditing of the vehicle defect reporting system, ensuring all staff are aware of their obligations, the role of DVSA and the need to report any DVSA checks immediately.
  • To ensure efficient Fuel Usage, monitor and assess fuel usage reports, engine idling reports and Genius reports and take appropriate action with staff to achieve targets.
  • To assess, investigate and make sure customer comments are internally being responded to in an adequate and timely manner and take appropriate action with staff to achieve targets.
  • Duties and Responsibilities vary from time to time and the post holder will be expected to perform other such duties, which are reasonably comparable in accordance with the conditions appertaining to the post and to meet operational requirements

 

Specifications/ Requirements

 

  • Strong IT skills, particularly Word and Excel;
  • Experience of working within the Bus Industry
  • Experience or knowledge of delivering efficient and successful bus operations through effective leadership, teamwork and control of resources.
  • Proven track record re driving standards improvements

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Admin Clerk in our Operations Department in Battersea, who will support and assist our Staff Manager and Operations Manager by carrying out administrative and office duties and provide administrative support to the team of supervisors, managers and drivers.

 

Duties include:

  • Provide administrative services and support to the Operations Manger and the local Management Team
  • Collate statistics for weekly and monthly reports
  • Manage the administration of the depot
  • Provide effective minute taking
  • Ensure the telephone is answered and calls forwarded to the relevant individual
  • Deal with lost property enquiries
  • Man the reception desk for the depot
  • Assist in the provision of statistical information
  • Respond to all correspondence
  • Duty of care for the health and safety in the office at all times
  • Providing cover during times of absence and holidays
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade

  • Be well organised with good attention to detail;
  • Have effective communications skills, including written, verbal and presentational skills;

The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training from skilled staff and will attend our external training provider, usually on a day-release, to obtain the relevant qualifications. The apprentice will be located at one of our depots in Battersea, Walworth, Twickenham, Hayes, Beddington or Byfleet.

 

All candidates must:

  • Be over 16
  • Have, as a minimum (or expect to have by start of course) 4 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade A to C, including Maths and English
  • Be committed to attend a course of study and achieve qualifications

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an iBus Controller in our Performance Department, who will assist in ensuring that the Abellio London network of services is managed efficiently in order to exceed target criteria. The successful applicants will monitor and manage routes using the iBus system, ensuring that required levels of performance are delivered.

Reporting to the relevant Performance Manager the successful applicant will be required to:

  • Manage routes under their control to the required levels of performance in either EWT or On Time performance.
  • To be fully conversant with the iBus control strategies and complete role specific paperwork, eg, mileage tracker, event logs, i.e. code blue or red, GDIS, radio fault log, curtailment sheets, FNOL, as and when required.
  • Record and log incidents. Accurately record details of lost mileage.
  • Liaise with Roadside Controllers, Performance Managers, TfL, CentreComm, TSG and
  • London Bus Officials with regards to service disruptions, in order to meet the required performance standards.
  • Ensure that all company rules and regulations are adhered to and communicate incidents that may affect operations to appropriate managers and directors.
  • Support and promote a Health and Safety culture.
