Requirements of the role include:

  • You must be a current UK PCV licence holder
  • You must have a Driver Qualification Card or Certificate if you passed your PCV test on or after 10th September 2008
  • You must not have more than 3 penalty points as a PCV licence holder
  • You must not have any drink driving or drug offences within the last five years
  • You must be a safe and considerate driver
  • You must be customer focused at all times
  • You must be able communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing
  • You will need to be prepared to work shifts
  • You should have a valid passport or birth certificate
  • You should have a minimum of 12 months visa documentation or longer before the date of expiry

PCV Driver training is also available. You must hold a full UK driving licence and have no penalty points or driving convictions.

Entry Requirements


Operations, Business or Engineering role
Minimum 2:2 honours degree in any discipline
At least 280 UCAS points (or equivalent) excluding general studies


Personal Requirements

Our trainees are likely to be outgoing with good team-working, organisational and interpersonal skills. They have a genuine and inclusive approach to dealing with people. You will have excellent communication and written skills including report writing, accuracy and attention to detail. Good numeracy and knowledge of MS Office packages (particularly Excel), and experience of data analysis techniques. Candidates will need to have strong analytical skills along with good commercial acumen and have the ability to relocate.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Performance Manager in our Performance Department, who will assist in ensuring that the Abellio London network of services is managed efficiently in order to exceed target criteria. To ensure the distribution of relevant information is consistent, accurate and on time, and to strengthen the interface between Performance, Operations and Engineering. To supervise service control practices in line with the current policy and procedures.

 

Duties include:

  • Work closely with the Performance Delivery Manager in developing and delivering training programs which increases awareness and understanding of TfL contractual requirements.
  • Supervise and ensure service control practices and procedures are in line with current policies and procedures, whilst ensuring that communication between relevant parties is of the highest order.
  • Compile and implement team rotas, planning the utilisation of all direct reports. Ensure the cost effective allocation of team members and overtime to meet supervisory requirements.
  • Produce reports on service performance and situations that affect the services either positively or adversely, communicating these reports to the Performance Delivery Manager.

 

All candidates must:

  • Have excellent understanding of the road passenger transport sector, including all relevant legal and external regulations and requirements for the operation of passenger carrying vehicles. Experience of working in the regulated London Bus Market, combined with an in-depth knowledge of the working of Transport for London.
  • Be experienced in managing and motivating a team to achieve high standards and meet deadlines. Performance focused with the ability to enthuse a team to achieve results.
  • Have thorough appreciation of the needs of external customers and external stakeholders, coupled with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plans.
  • Have a flexible approach, and be prepared to work outside normal hours to meet deadlines.
