A new contract 'won the Abellio way'

Abellio London started operation of route 415 that serves the Old Kent Road and Tulse Hill Station from Saturday 7th March.

Route 415, won by Abellio London in the latest round of TfL tenders, operates from their Walworth depot using eight new hybrid double deck buses representing an investment of approximately £2 million.

Commercial Manager Alastair Willis said the new TfL contract had been won the ‘Abellio Way.’

“Simple measures such as embracing welcomes that include hello and good day to our customers does make a difference and helps us achieve our goal of becoming the very best bus company in London and Surrey.

“The team at Walworth depot has worked hard to ensure a successful start of the new Route 415.  The service is being operated with new ADL Enviro 400 MMC hybrid double deck buses with twin axles and the latest Euro V1 engine.

“Features of the Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 include an innovative seating layout that maximizes use of seating space on the lower deck.

“Two forward facing seats have been placed onto the front nearside wheel arch box with a small luggage shelf on the rear half.  And also a single forward facing seat on the front offside wheel arch hub between the driver’s partition and staircase.”

Added Alastair:  “This is a tremendous success and will help to grow and strengthen our business.”
