Abellio London & Surrey shortlisted for the prestigious UK Bus Awards

Abellio London & Surrey has been shortlisted for the UK Bus Awards in 3 categories. Battersea depot, two drivers and a Driving Standards Manager have been nominated for the London Bus Garage of the Year, Top London Bus Driver and Unsung Heroes awards.

Battersea drivers Andrew Phillip and Damien Nota were nominated for the Top London Bus Driver Award. Andrew Phillip was put forward as he embodies a role model bus driver. We have received fantastic commendations from his customers and he has proved himself to be an outstanding team member, enthusiastic, committed and passionate about his role. Damien Nota joined the company in February and has already demonstrated through numerous commendations that he is loved by his customers. Damien puts his personality and pure joy for the job into every journey and makes a real difference to our customers.

Brian Reeves, the Driving Standards Manager at Battersea was nominated for the Unsung Heroes Award for his hard-work, loyalty and devotion to duty in particular with regard to reducing the number of road traffic collisions at the depot.

Battersea depot has been shortlisted amongst the highest performing garages in London.

The depot has increased customer commendations, climbed to the top of TfL league tables and run great initiatives for staff and the community.

Abellio London & Surrey’s Managing Director Tony Wilson was delighted to hear the news and commented. “It’s an honour to be shortlisted and see the efforts of our staff being recognised at the prestigious UK Bus Awards. We’re proud to have been recognised in this way and look forward to announcement of the final results in November.”

The finalists were made public at the Shortlist Announcement event at The London Transport Museum on 9th October 2014. The UK Bus Awards winners will be announced at the Presentation Ceremony on 18th November 2014.
