‘Catch the Bus Week’ success for Abellio Surrey

Entering into the spirit of ‘Catch the Bus Week,’ promoting the famous green hands logo, are Abellio Surrey staff Peter Martin, Eesha Chadha and Raj Shadha.

They led the way in the national celebration of the benefits of taking the bus.

From June 29 to July 4 Abellio Surrey were encouraging people who don’t normally take the bus to give it a try. And they were happy with the results.

Said Commercial Manager Alastair Willis: “Abellio Surrey find ‘Catch the Bus Week’ to be a great platform for highlighting the many advantages of taking the bus instead of driving the car.

“For those who don’t take the bus – possibly due to misconceptions about the vehicles, ticket prices or the whole bus travel experience – we have been actively encouraging them to ditch the car for this one week, sit back, relax and let someone else do the driving.

“We have offered our discounted ticket to groups as well as free ticket giveaways.”

In addition, two schools served by Abellio Surrey took part in poster competitions. They were Stanwell Fields, Stanwell, Middlesex, and Sayes Court School, Addlestone, Surrey.

Abellio Surrey also held a fun and creative selfie competition, encouraging people to take a selfie of themselves as they boarded the bus.

‘Catch the Bus Week’ is also a national initiative by the Greener Journeys campaign to celebrate the benefits of taking the bus.
