Abellio has been excited to partner with Transport for London this year on their ‘Women With Drive’ initiative.  This innovative programme is dedicated to attracting more women into London’s vibrant bus industry.

In January we were delighted to welcome our first Women With Drive cohort to our training school. Caroline Yona, Malak Choucair, Vanya Azizi and Fahmo Abdulle have completed their initial training including an insight into the industry, health and safety and the all important driving skills.

At the end of their fast-track training our first cohort have aced it, and they are now ready to head out to our depots across London. We are pleased to welcome them to our Southall, Battersea and Beddington depots. Congratulations to them all!

Abellio is very proud to have skilled and supportive instructors, thank you to Nick van Kukaj, Anthony Spencer and Jonathan Hills who have all worked with our Women With Drive cohort and have helped to build the careers of many of our drivers across London.

Lorna Murphy, Operations and HR Director, Abellio said:

‘We are delighted to be growing our London team with the support of Transport for London. The Women With Drive initiative has introduced us to a talented group of women. Congratulations to our first cohort, we are absolutely delighted to welcome you to Abellio.’
